HDA 2010 – 8th & 9th May

After the great success of the Huntington's Diesease Assoication Fayre last year at Exeter race course, we have been asked back to do another weekend of racing. This year the event is being held at Buckfastleigh is going to be the same setup as last year.

On the Friday night this yar there is a wedding reception that is open to all campers and on the Saturday there will be other entertainment. Camping is free and open Friday night and Saturday night.

Last year we (the drivers that attended from different clubs) rasied £130 for HDA after covering the cost of the trophies, this year it would be great to break the £200 mark for them. To do this we need help from everyone and the way to help is come along to race with others. End of the Winter Championship

Well as a lot of you will know it is now the end of the winter championship with most the prize positions still being competed for, and as a result this produced some very close racing thoughout the day.

As lots of people are so very very keen to find out where they finished the points will not be published until the prize giving, this will take part after the caravan racing so do attend to find out who won what and find out where you finished in the running.

And on that note do not forget caravan racing is on Sunday 31st January and all monies rasied are for a good cause.

Racing in the Snow

Just a Bit of SnowWell with all the snow we have been everywhere we could not miss the operatunity to have a play in the snow...... And what better chance than carry on and have the 5th round of the winter championship.

The day was fun and when the snow balls started to fly they were aimed at one other and for those that had a good aim, at the cars. There was also stray snow men appearing on the track for all to aim at.

By the end of the day everyone was saying
"Can we race in snow more often?"

So all that can be said to that is Roll on more snow!!

Replacement Transponder System

Just a quick update, we have now got ourselves another transponder system which means we can give Elaine a break from the computer. She has done a really good job and it has been much appricated.

For advice on mounting transponders in the car please follow THIS LINK

Caravan Racing

Well the time is ticking away to the great day of racing we call Caravan Racing!!! It is good to see that there have been already a couple of attempts attending the track to being tested. These range from basic shoe boxes with wheels, to full suspension version, there is even a school getting involved.

There are 2 question that keep getting asked about it so I will asnswer them again now for everyone.

When is it??  The Race is on Sunday 31st January 2010

What are the Rules?? The caravan has to be a minimum of the same length  of the towing vehicle if not longer. The caravan has to be securly attached so it does not come of while racing.

Some people has shown at interest to do a demolition derby at the end of the day but that is purely optional.

So come on everyone, support this great fun event as it is for a truely good cause.

Over the last few weeks the website has been undergoing a radical new look website, so far things are going well and the forum has now been embedded into the main site.  There are several little bugs and various bits that need tidying up but other than that everything is up and running.

If you do discover any problems then please do hesitate to contact us.

Caravan Racing

caravanAfter the Lost of a great person last month it has been decided that we are going to support the family and hold a race in memort of Tony and raise money for charity as the request of the family.

So we are going to do a charity race with a difference, we are doing a Days Racing with Caravans. This was because his son suggested it one day with his father at the track as they were both ex-banger racers, and they have done this with full size vehicles.

So come on everybody and join in the fun, and to find out more please follow the link below:-
